The Bible App needs to have a connection to the server in order to sync bookmarks, highlights, notes and share verses; however, you can follow the steps listed here to download a version for when you don’t have a signal or WiFi.
If you are having trouble with the app not connecting to the server, but you know you have a downloaded version, follow the steps below to see if the app will let you use it:
1) Put the device in airplane mode, or turn off all connections to both data and WiFi.
2) Restart the app.
3) The app should default to the downloaded version and allow you to use it without needing data.
Note: If the app sees any sort of connection to the internet, it will try to use it. If the connection goes in/out, then it will not work properly.
